STAIRWAY ARTWORK LATEST ADDITION TO PUBLIC COLLECTION

The final piece of Middlesbrough's vibrant public art collection has been unveiled on the outside of the town's Cleveland Centre.

The striking Car Park Stairway by local artist Emma Bennett on Grange Road echoes the form of the nearby external concrete stairway that leads to the Centre's rooftop car park.

 

£5m boost to make Middlesbrough the most creative town in UK

The bold vision to make Middlesbrough the most creative town in the UK has been handed a major boost after millions of pounds in government funding was confirmed.

Mayor Andy Preston today celebrated the "brilliant, brilliant news" that a bid led by the Middlesbrough Cultural Partnership and Middlesbrough Council for £4.25m from the Cultural Development Fund had been successful.

The Fureys make their eagerly awaited return to the stage of Middlesbrough Theatre on Saturday, March 26 and will treat their audience to one of popular music's richest legacies. 

They are one of Ireland's most acclaimed and influential folk, traditional and middle of the road bands.
