Séance: Conversations in the Dark is part spirit theatre, part psychological thriller and part autobiographical account.
The audience will walk past the subterranean candlelit prison cells, up the winding staircase into the heart of the courtroom where the séance will take place. Weaving a persuasively deceitful web, Christopher will share his sleepwalking night terrors and bone-chilling accounts of local ghostly tales as he conducts the séance.
The thrilling and intimate event will also see thirteen participants selected to join take active part in reaching out to the spirits.
Audience members must interact with spirits if they are called upon and Town Hall regulars will be hoping for an appearance from Oscar, the ghost of a merchant seaman who is rumoured to haunt the old police cells.
Séance medium and show creator Christopher Howell said: “I’ve had Middlesbrough Town Hall on my list of must-visit places for a long time and I am thrilled to finally be here this weekend.
“In our current world of alternative realities, social media bubbles and conspiracy wildfires, only a good séance can remind us how easy it is to deceive ourselves.
“I’m hoping for a host of supernatural interlopers appearing who will find it hard to resist taking part...”
