Middlesbrough Town Hall is celebrating its 130th with a two days of free events including an interactive laser display in Centre Square, a DJ set and gig by Maximo Park frontman Paul Smith, and a variety of performances and demonstrations by local community groups.
Renowned photographer Julian Germain will also be unveiling his latest portrait exhibition: a celebration of life in Middlesbrough featuring a range of community groups.
In recognition of the rich history of the building, the original 1889 opening parade photo will be recreated with a contemporary twist. People are invited to be part of the photo, which will be taken by photography Charles Twist using original 19th century lenses.
On both evenings, award-winning digital artist Seb Lee-Delisle, will bring interactive Laser Light Synths to be projected on the exterior of the Town Hall.
