The service was suspended last month due to pandemic-related staffing pressures within Middlesbrough Council's Waste Services team, but will return from Tuesday (August 24).
Residents are reminded to check the collection calendar to see when their next collection is due, and that excess bags of green waste will not be collected.
Councillor Barrie Cooper, Middlesbrough Council's Executive member for Environment, Finance and Governance, said: "The latest wave of the Covid-19 pandemic hit staffing levels hard, so the decision was taken to prioritise weekly refuse collection and fortnightly kerbside recycling services.
"We've kept the situation under constant review and I'm delighted to say that we're able to resume green waste collections a week earlier than had been envisaged.
"In the meantime I'm grateful to all our residents for their patience and support, and apologise for any inconvenience."

Residents are also reminded that excess green waste can also be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centre at Haverton Hill - appointments can be booked here: Household Waste Recycling Centre | Middlesbrough Council
