Prem Kumar Receives Lifetime Achievement Award: Celebrating a Legacy of Dedication

Published October 22, 2024 By

We are thrilled to announce that Prem Kumar, a true community stalwart, has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Tees Valley EDI Awards 2024. Over the past 60 years, Prem has shown unparalleled dedication to the community, proving that age is no barrier to making a difference.

Throughout his life, Prem has successfully run several businesses, including a post office where he worked tirelessly for 20 years. His commitment to serving the community through his work is exemplary.

Beyond his business ventures, Prem’s impact has been most felt through his cultural contributions. As a founding member of the Hindi Cultural Society and a key figure in the Hindu Mandir (Temple) in Middlesbrough, he has worked relentlessly to create inclusive spaces for people of all ages and backgrounds. Today, at 75 years old, Prem continues his charitable work, focusing on the Mandir and supporting causes in Nepal.

Prem’s journey highlights the vital role older people can play in their communities, reminding us that volunteering and service don’t have an age limit. His story is an inspiration, encouraging more older people to step forward and leave their own lasting legacies.
