Jubilee event grants up for grabs

Grants are up for grabs to help Middlesbrough communities celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

The funding's available for local events over the bank holiday weekend from Thursday, June 2 to Sunday, June 5.

There are two grant schemes for events which must be open to residents or communities:

  • Up to £1,000 for constituted groups for community-based activities
  • Up to £250 to community groups or neighbours for locally-based street parties

Applications close at 9am on Monday, March 28. Any applications arriving after this date will not be considered.

Middlesbrough Deputy Mayor Councillor Mieka Smiles said: "It's been a really tough couple of years, but we've turned the corner.

"The Platinum Jubilee is something for everyone to get involved in and celebrate, and these grant will kick-start events to bring communities together, and act as a showcase for everything that makes Middlesbrough great."
