Mayor Andy Preston has welcomed the Head Master of Eton College to Middlesbrough after plans were announced to open a new sixth form in the town.

Eton Head Master Simon Henderson was joined on Wednesday's visit by Star Academies' Director of Education Lisa Crausby.

The final piece of Middlesbrough's vibrant public art collection has been unveiled on the outside of the town's Cleveland Centre.

The striking Car Park Stairway by local artist Emma Bennett on Grange Road echoes the form of the nearby external concrete stairway that leads to the Centre's rooftop car park.

Two Teesside-based community radio stations have revealed that they are working together to bring up to thirty new radio stations to the local airwaves.

Mayor Andy Preston today celebrated the "brilliant, brilliant news" that a bid led by the Middlesbrough Cultural Partnership and Middlesbrough Council for £4.25m from the Cultural Development Fund had been successful.
