Soroptimists Serve Up Easter Surprise for Local Children

Published March 30, 2021 By

MIDDLESBROUGH Soroptimists have donated 103 chocolate Easter Eggs to local charity The Bungalow Partnership for the children they work with.

The Partnership provides specialist support to children, young people, and their families who have experienced trauma and distress, so that they achieve greater emotional well-being.

Partnership Director Marie Blythe said: "Children and young people have experienced the huge upheaval of the Covid pandemic this year, and families in the North East particularly have been hit hard by the financial, emotional and isolation impacts of these times.

"The kindness and generosity shown by the Soroptimists International Middlesbrough, and their friends and associates, offers a wonderful reminder of the good that is in the world and how supportive local groups and individuals are.

"We have received an overwhelming donation of chocolate eggs for the children we support and on behalf of the trustees, team and families we support, we'd like to say a huge thank you."

The Soroptimists were helped by the kind donations of friends, neighbours and other contacts.

Current President Pam Cooper said: "Without the kindness of our many contacts, we would never have achieved this.

"We hope that each egg brings a little bit of pleasure to the children receiving them."
