The Black, Muslim and Ethnic Awards is celebrated every year in Jury's Inn at the heart of Middlesbrough, to raise a toast to the good work and accomplishments of people from rare and marginalised backgrounds in the Teesside region, as well as those who have selflessly committed to helping them.
The event was a resounding success, and saw no less than 12 vaunted awards handed out to hardworking youths, brave and inspiring communities, brilliant and considerate businesses, the BME woman of the year, and much more.
We present a curated reel of photos taken at the event, showing the bustling crowds and thunderous applause offered to every nominee and winner. More can be found on our Facebook page and other associated social media.
CVFM Radio has been closely associated with the BME Awards since its incipiation. Both CVFM and the BME Network are the brain children of Idrees Rashid, whose hard work and swift savvy have helped so many in the region.
Idrees: "We're proud to have hosted this year's BME Awards and to have celebrated the fantastic work done by people in the community. Congratulations to all of our winners and nominees, and our gracious thanks to all that attended."
We here at CVFM congratulate everyone involved in the BME awards - the hardworking staff and volunteers who put the awards together, Jury's Inn for so graciously and capably hosting the ceremony, and all of the winners and worthy nominees - and we applaud the BME community of Middlesbrough and Teesside - it's all done for you.
