Christmas in Middlesbrough

Published November 04, 2025 By

This year's Christmas celebrations kick off on Saturday 22 November.

On Saturday 22 November and Sunday 23 November, Shine On, Boro comes to the town centre. It's a magical light-filled celebration with performances and mesmerising light installations, and it's completely free!

And the fun doesn't stop there. Sunday 23 November also sees the Christmas Lights Switch On and the return of the Christmas parade!

Entertainment starts on stage at 12:15pm, with the lights switched on at 5pm, and a festive party afterwards.

The much-loved Christmas parade returns with Santa Claus and two of his favourite reindeer, as well as community and school groups.

As if taking part in the parade wasn't enough, Santa will also be in his grotto at the Christmas Lights Switch On! It's bound to be popular, so make sure you book your tickets in advance.

No Christmas is complete without a panto, and this year it's Goldilocks and the Three Bears. You can get your tickets on the Middlesbrough Box Office website.

Newham Grange Farm will be transformed into a magical winter wonderland, with twinkly trees, light displays, festive music, and lots more. The fun includes a Christmas trail, festive crafts, breakfast and storytime with Mrs Claus, and of course, a visit to Santa's grotto. Get your tickets for Christmas at Newham Grange Farm now.
