Middlesbrough Set for Major Armed Forces Community Celebration This September

Published September 01, 2026 By

Veterans, serving personnel, Armed Forces families and the wider Middlesbrough community are being invited to come together for a spectacular day of celebration, entertainment and family fun.

Forces and Community Together (FACT) is bringing its FACT Armed Forces Community Event to Middlesbrough Sports Village on Saturday 19 September, with a packed programme of activities, attractions and opportunities to connect with the organisations supporting the Armed Forces community.

The exciting event will showcase the very best of the Armed Forces community and the organisations that work alongside it, bringing people together for a fun, welcoming and inclusive day for all ages.

Visitors can expect to see military and Armed Forces organisations, cadets, a re-enactment group and emergency services, alongside a fantastic line-up of family activities, games, entertainment, stalls, food and much more.

Local Businesses Get Behind the Armed Forces Community

The event has also received fantastic support from businesses and organisations across the local area, helping FACT create an event that truly brings the community together.

Among those supporting the event are The Parkway Centre, McDonald's, SG Petch, Morrisons and PizzaExpress, alongside many other local businesses, organisations and supporters who have contributed funding, donations, resources and practical support.

FACT says the backing from local businesses demonstrates the strength of community spirit across Middlesbrough and highlights the important role businesses can play in supporting the Armed Forces community.

A FACT spokesperson said:

"We are incredibly excited to be bringing this event to Middlesbrough. FACT is all about bringing our Armed Forces community and the wider community together, and that is exactly what we want this day to achieve.

"We're really grateful that Middlesbrough Council approved our Cultural Ambassador Grant application. FACT is using that funding alongside other money and support we have secured to organise what we hope will be a fantastic event for the whole community.

"We also want to say a huge thank you to all of the businesses and organisations that have got behind the event. The support from The Parkway Centre, McDonald's, SG Petch, Morrisons, PizzaExpress and many more has been fantastic.

"Their generosity and support is helping us create something really special, and it shows just how much can be achieved when the community comes together.

"We want veterans, serving personnel, Armed Forces families and local residents of all ages to come along, enjoy the day and have the opportunity to meet the organisations and people who support our Armed Forces community.

"As FACT, we are determined to make this an event Middlesbrough can be proud of and, most importantly, one that properly celebrates and supports the Armed Forces community."

The event is being organised and delivered by FACT as part of its commitment to strengthening connections between the Armed Forces community and the wider community across Middlesbrough.

FACT successfully secured a Cultural Ambassador Grant from Middlesbrough Council, with that funding being combined with additional funding, donations and support from its growing network of sponsors and supporters.

The result will be a vibrant day designed to celebrate service, bring families together, showcase the Armed Forces community and create new connections across Middlesbrough.

The event also forms part of FACT's wider commitment to ensuring the Armed Forces community is more visible, valued and connected across Middlesbrough.

FACT has signed the Armed Forces Covenant, reinforcing its commitment to supporting veterans, serving personnel, reservists and Armed Forces families and helping build stronger links between them and the communities in which they live.

With something for everyone, the FACT Armed Forces Community Event promises to be a fantastic day celebrating community, service, family and connection.

Everyone is welcome — come along, get involved and help FACT make it a day Middlesbrough can be proud of.
