The media launch showcased the major investment made by Pneuma Group to transform the prominent central site, located under the A66 and opposite STACK, into a destination for live sport, food, drink, entertainment and group occasions.
At the heart of the venue is a 23ft LED screen covering both floors, supported by 27 anti-glare Sony televisions and the ability to show up to six different sports at the same time. The venue also features two multi-sports simulators, interactive darts and a pool table, giving customers plenty to do before, during and after the main sporting action.
Pitch! Sports Bar has been designed for everything from major football matches and international sporting events to informal drinks, group bookings and nights out. It's food offer includes a Pitch twist on sports bar classics including burgers, wings, tenders, loaded nachos, sharing platters, salads, sides, sweets and a children’s menu.
Customers can use the free Pitch! Sports Bar app to book seats, sports activities and event tickets, as well as order food and drink.
An extensive sporting calendar is already taking shape, with major fixtures scheduled well into the coming months.
In it's opening week alone, Pitch! Sports Bar plans to show:
• All major live football, covering both national and international matches
• England v Sri Lanka in the first One-Day International at Durham on Tuesday 22nd September
• England v Spain in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday 26 h September
• A packed programme of Women’s Super League action on Sunday 27 th September.
The England v Sri Lanka One-Day International is scheduled to take place at Banks Homes Riverside, Chester-Le-Street on Tuesday 22 nd September, while England will begin it's UEFA Nations League campaign against Spain at Wembley on Saturday 26th September. A full round of Women’s Super League fixtures is also scheduled across Sunday 27th September.
