The orchestra, led by conductor Alan Buribayev and soloist Tim Hugh, will be performing at the Theatre on Wednesday, October 25.
As well as marking the 60th anniversary of the Theatre, this month also marks 100 years since the Russian Revolution began in St Petersburg in 1917.
The concert features a programme of much-loved Russian music, including Shostakovich's great Second Cello Concerto, commissioned by the iconic Russian cellist Rostropovich.
In the second half, the Orchestra will be performing one of the most popular of all Russian symphonies, Tchaikovsky’s Pathetique, while the concert opens with Mussorgsky’s famous Night on a Bare Mountain.
Promoters of the show are promising a highlight of the season, which no music lover should miss.
