‘Blood, Sweat n Tees’ will be a collection of new and re-imagined works by an artist described by Frieze Magazine as bringing “an infusion of weirdness” to the lively Teesside art scene.
This new body of work expends across sculpture and painting to form an installation designed specifically to interact with the eccentric space that is Disgraceland.
Benjamin, a native Teesider, has established himself as one of the area’s most prolific and forward thinking artists. From founding galleries such The House of Blah Blah and Felix the Gallery to his extensive involvement in DIY and underground projects, he is an artist whose work is firmly on the pulse.
His work is a representation of his experience as a working class artist living in one of countries most deprived areas. Benjamin addresses both the bleak and the beautiful, offsetting hopelessness and banality against scenes of wonder and beauty.

Through his use of materials the artist aligns himself with the areas industrial heritage. Shaped from a molten plastic pulp, he produced the sculptures at the heart of this exhibition using traditional chemical recycling techniques.
The exhibition will launch with a special preview from 7pm on the 16th of March. Benjamin himself will also host a second viewing of the exhibition the following day, Saturday 17th, from 11am-4pm.
This exhibition is free to attend and drinks will be available.
