James Arthur Road to Riverside - Giving a local band the chance to play the Riverside Stadium!

Published March 27, 2024 By

Teesside's Make a Scene Events Presents: Road to Riverside with James Arthur

Make a Scene Events, a dynamic independent alternative events company based in Teesside, is thrilled to announce the launch of "Road to Riverside" - a one-night-only event in search of the hottest acts from the North-East. The winning band will secure the coveted opening support slot at James Arthur's homecoming gig at the Riverside Stadium on June 8th as part of his Bittersweet Love tour. The act will be chosen by James, in person on the night of the show.

In association with BBC Radio Tees, this event will take place at Teesside University's Students Union, providing a platform for local talent to be showcased on a monumental scale. James Arthur, global artist and Redcar native, is deeply rooted in the local music scene, honing his craft performing with his formative bands Traceless, Moonlight Drive, and Save Arcade in venues across the North-East. Now, he aims to give back to his community by championing up-and-coming artists from the area.

"I'm coming back to Teesside and performing at the Riverside Stadium, which is a full circle moment for me. I wanted to share this moment and give something back to where I came from; giving another act from the North-East the chance to support me at the Boro!" said James.

If you're a band residing in the North East of England and are available on June 7th and 8th, seize this incredible opportunity by applying at https://makeascene.uk/road-to-riverside. Don't miss your chance to be part of this unforgettable event and showcase your talent on stage with James Arthur!

Closing date: Friday 5th April 2024.

*Applicants must be bands residing in the North East of England and available on Friday 7th June for the competition, and June 8th for the Riverside Stadium performance.
