A special celebration was held at Hemlington Community Hub and Library, hosted by library staff.
The official reopening was carried out by Middlesbrough Mayor Andy Preston.
The refurbishment of Hemlington Library, following on from the recent refurbishments at Marton and Acklam, mean the town's Community Hubs have seen a near £1m investment.

The improvement works include a new roof, new windows and doors.
Inside there has been a complete refurbishment including new lighting, heating, flooring, creation of additional meeting rooms and a large community space.
There has been improvements to toilet facilities, including accessible facilities, and additional public computers and provision of WiFi installed throughout the building.
Cllr Mieka Smiles, Middlesbrough Council's Executive Member for Culture and Communities, said: ""The hub is a focal point for community activities having used it myself as a meeting point with other mums.
"This renovation is superb and something that the whole community can be proud of."
Hemlington Library was first opened to the public in 1982.
