The four contenders are in three categories:
Digital Impact
- Staying Put Agency - the Rekindle service supports disadvantaged and disabled people to improve their ability to access the internet, helping individuals to support their health, wealth and happiness; and in reducing loneliness and social isolation.
Rekindle provides relevant, creative, digital solutions to upskill and empower Middlesbrough residents, to get online and confidently use digital technology to enhance their lives.
Environmental Services
- Environmental services - for the newly-formed Flying Squad fly-tipping team.
The Council's Environmental Flying Squad is a new approach to tackling environmental crime, consisting of environmental officers and area care operatives supported by neighbourhood safety officers. We in one pass. A ‘sort it not report it' team investigates and clears fly-tipped waste and tackles other environmental issues including littering, untaxed vehicles and commercial waste problems.
Technology
- Environmental Services - In-Cab system for refuse and recycling collections.
Middlesbrough Council provides refuse and recycling services to more 62,000 households across the town. This project has seen the digital transformation the service, enabling customers to access real-time information for refuse/recycling collections online.
- Revenues & Benefits - for the transformational new Voicescape tool used to interact with customers using an intelligent solution designed to target specific groups, maximise contact opportunities and remove manual intervention. The product is used to support cash collection opportunities, and allows the service to interact with those who require financial support.
The shortlisted organisations will now complete presentations and interviews to a specific judging panel made up of senior and influential figures within local government.
The winners will be unveiled at London's Grosvenor House on Wednesday, July 20.
