The festival has taken place every Easter Saturday since 2010, also making it the longest running event of its kind in the North East. The festival attracts crowds of music fans into Stockton town centre for the day - boosting trade across local pubs, restaurants and food outlets.
Last year's event featured slots from The Zutons, Corella, Seb Lowe and Get Down Services - alongside an amazing supporting field of local and regional acts.
Organisers of the 2025 festival have pulled out all of the stops to secure a massive headliner.
Maximo Park will headline the ARC Stage - bringing their front man, Billingham's own Paul Smith, back for a rare homecoming gig.
Festival co-programmer Chris Cobain, of event co-organisers Tees Music Alliance, is looking forward to next year's event already;
"It's now almost a year-round process to programme Stockton Calling so we've been working hard over the summer months to land a big name to kick off our 2025 announcements. Bringing a band of Maximo Park's quality to the festival is a real coup - they've got a hatful of hits, and we know they'll put on a blistering show."
"We’re always incredibly grateful to the hundreds of regular Stockton Calling fans that turn up each year. In recognition of that, we’ve kept ticket prices the same as for 2024 – despite the cost of putting on events continuing to rise.”
Fellow co-programmer, Jimmy Beck of KU agrees;
"The Stockton Calling team have been bursting with excitement about booking Maximo Park – it’s great to be able to finally spill the beans, it’s an amazing booking for all sorts of reasons.
“As usual, we're already getting calls and emails from interested artists, hoping to play in 2025 and we're expecting to be making some tough decisions about who we can offer slots to. Once those all-important headliners are in, the rest of the bills soon fall into place and that's when we see the excitement building from our amazing fanbase."
Stockton Calling is co promoted by Tees Music Alliance, ARC and KU Promotions - and the festival sees stages being presented in a range of venues across the town centre, featuring scores of bands performing from early afternoon onwards.
Tickets for 2024 are now available at www.stocktoncalling.co.uk - selling at the same price as last year, £40 for the full day including all booking fees.
